Mobie Oy and The African Travelling Teacher – TATT Launch a New Digital Learning Partnership

Mobie Oy and The African Travelling Teacher -TATT launch a new digital learning partnership for African schools, building a scalable learning network for African education through OnEdu AI, local collaboration, and sustainable technology.

Mobie Oy and The African Travelling Teacher -TATT are proud to announce a new strategic partnership to bring high-quality digital learning opportunities to African schools, educators, and learners. Through this collaboration, Mobie and TATT will jointly produce online learning content, support African educational institutions in joining a growing learning network, and create new pathways for scalable, accessible, and locally meaningful education.

At the heart of the partnership is a new African learning service environment opened by Mobie:

Visit TATT Mobie Africa LXP

The platform creates a dedicated digital home for African schools and educators who want to develop, share, and deliver learning online. It also provides a foundation for a broader educational network in which institutions, teachers, training providers, and partners can collaborate across borders.

Digital learning partnership combines Finnish EdTech with African insight

Mobie brings to the partnership its long experience in developing digital learning environments for schools and educational institutions. Mobie’s OnEdu AI learning environment is designed to support experiential, collaborative, and AI-assisted learning. OnEdu enables teachers to create online courses, enrich learning materials, support different learners, and use secure AI tools directly inside the learning environment.

The African Traveling Teacher brings a strong local understanding of African education, communities, teachers, and learners. The partnership is built on the idea that sustainable digital education cannot be imported as a ready-made model. It must be co-created with local educators, local schools, and local needs.

Together, Mobie and The African Traveling Teacher aim to build a learning ecosystem where African schools can access modern digital tools, produce their own content, connect with other institutions, and strengthen teacher-led innovation.

A new network for schools, teachers, and learners

The new Mobie Africa service environment is more than a learning platform. It is intended to become a collaborative education network for African institutions.

Through the platform, schools and educational partners can:

  • publish and deliver online courses,
  • support blended and distance learning,
  • create local learning content,
  • use AI-assisted tools for course production,
  • connect with other schools and educators,
  • build shared programs and training models,
  • support multilingual and culturally relevant learning.

The goal is to make digital learning easier to start, scale, and adapt to local educational contexts. Below you can see how easy Mobie LXP is to start!

The Virunga Institute of Tourism and Technology (VITT) is a vocational skilling and educational center located in Kisoro District, southwestern Uganda. It provides practical training and professional short courses for careers in the tourism, hospitality, and conservation sectors.

Opinsys joins as a device and technology partner

The partnership also includes Opinsys Oy, Mobie’s network partner and a Finnish education technology company with long experience in school digitalization. Opinsys supports the ecosystem as a device and technology partner, helping ensure that schools have access to reliable technology infrastructure and devices that support modern pedagogy.

This is an important part of the model. A learning platform alone is not enough. Schools also need usable devices, sustainable maintenance models, teacher support, and practical technology that works in real classrooms.

By combining Mobie’s learning environment, The African Travelling Teacher -TATT’s educational network, and Opinsys’ school technology expertise, the partnership creates a stronger foundation for practical implementation.

Supporting African schools in joining the digital learning future

The partnership responds to a clear need: African schools and educators are looking for scalable, affordable, and locally adaptable ways to expand access to quality learning. Digital platforms can help, but only when they are connected to teacher development, reliable technology, and meaningful local collaboration.

Mobie and the African Travelling Teacher -TATT believe that African educational institutions should not only consume digital learning content. They should also be able to create, own, share, and scale their own expertise.

The new platform enables African teachers and institutions to become active producers of online learning. This supports local capacity building, teacher professionalism, and new forms of educational entrepreneurship.

Towards a sustainable African learning ecosystem

This partnership marks the beginning of a long-term collaboration. The shared ambition is to build a trusted digital learning ecosystem that supports schools, teachers, students, and education partners across Africa.

The first phase focuses on launching the platform, producing initial learning content, and inviting selected educational institutions to join the network. In the next phases, the partners aim to expand the model to new schools, regions, and learning programs.

The collaboration is based on a shared belief: when technology, pedagogy, and local expertise come together, digital learning can become a powerful tool for educational inclusion, innovation, and opportunity.
