Ultra Lean Business is known as an expert in B2B purchasing behaviour analysis and business simulation. The company’s core competencies relate to how customers make purchasing decisions, how to analyse purchasing behaviour and how to use these insights to drive sales and business development.
Recently, Antti Leijala, CEO of Ultra Lean Business, visited Mobiella for a video interview. The interview discussed how expertise can be transferred from traditional consulting and training formats to online courses, and why making tacit knowledge visible is increasingly critical for many companies.
According to Leijala, the need for new ways of learning and training has grown rapidly. Companies are constantly in need of new skills, but there is limited time for learning. Therefore, knowledge needs to be transferred effectively and in a practical way that directly supports day-to-day activities.
Cooperation with Mobiella kick-started the change
Cooperation with Mobie Oy started quickly in the spring, when Antti Leijala got to know Mobie’s Jukka Sormuse via LinkedIn. Right from the start, it was clear that their ways of working and thinking matched. The discussion did not remain at the level of planning, but quickly moved on to concrete action.
Until a few months ago, Ultra Lean Business focused heavily on consulting, live training, webinars and analytical work. The introduction of the CompetenceX learning platform provided by Mobie changed things significantly. Expertise began to be systematically built up in an online course format, and today new courses are constantly being created – even several in the same week.
CompetenceX supports the scaling of learning
Mobie provides Ultra Lean Business with a CompetenceX platform for building online courses and ongoing support for technical issues. Leijala has been particularly impressed by the speed and practicality of the service.
– You get answers quickly and problems are solved immediately. There’s no waiting around, Leijala says.
Building online courses has also developed Leijala’s own pedagogical thinking. In a video interview, he says he is now thinking more and more about how to teach expert knowledge in a way that makes learning effective and easy to assimilate.
Leijala recommends the CompetenceX platform especially for experts in different fields. When you build on your own expertise by offering online courses, you create new ways to share knowledge, develop business and scale expertise.
Looking to the future and learning
The interviews also highlighted the change in expert work. According to Antti, in the future it will no longer be enough to be an average expert. Emerging artificial intelligence is rapidly changing the nature of expert work, making continuous development of skills more important than ever. Online courses offer an efficient way to learn new things, develop your own skills and share your expertise with others, regardless of time and place.
Cooperation with Mobie is seen as a mutual partnership, developing and planning together. Looking to the future: in addition to the Finnish market, the longer-term aim is to modernise and enhance the export of education and training internationally.
A video interview with Antti Leijala will be published later.
